The All Ireland Permaculture Association (AIPA) is a growing community of people across the island of Ireland who share a belief that healthier landscapes, resilient communities, and regenerative livelihoods are not only possible – they are already emerging.
Permaculture offers a practical framework for designing systems that work with nature rather than against it. It draws on ecological principles, traditional knowledge, and thoughtful design to create ways of living that restore soil, water, biodiversity, and community. Around Ireland, people are already applying these ideas in gardens, farms, schools, neighbourhoods, and businesses.
AIPA exists to help connect these people and strengthen the movement.
We bring together growers, educators, land stewards, community organisers, designers, and curious beginners who want to learn how to live more lightly and more abundantly on this land. Some members have decades of experience; others are just starting to explore what permaculture means for them. All are welcome.
Our work focuses on three simple aims: connection, learning, and collaboration.
Through gatherings, events, online networks, and shared projects, we create spaces where people can meet, exchange knowledge, and support one another’s work. We also aim to strengthen permaculture across the island by making it more visible, accessible, and connected.
The Association operates on an all-island basis, recognising that ecosystems, watersheds, and communities do not follow political borders. Our members live and work in towns, cities, farms, smallholdings, and community spaces throughout Ireland.
At its heart, AIPA is a network of people who care deeply about the future of this island – its soils, waters, wildlife, and communities – and who believe that thoughtful design and collective effort can help create a thriving, regenerative Ireland.
Whether you stayed, strayed, returned, or arrived – if you care about the land and the future we share here, you are welcome in this community!
