OURganic Gardens

An outdoor environmental education centre offering advice and small scale educational packages

OURganic Gardens is located on a 4 acre site in Gortahork, Co Donegal boasting 180∙ views of the mountain scenery and landscapes. Started by Owners Joanne and Milo Butler in 2008 the land has been continually enhanced to encourage , protect and improve the biodiversity and heritage that the local landscape has to offer.

The intention is for OURganic Gardens to be an outdoor environmental education centre offering advice and small scale educational packages centered on food, sustainability, and the environment. We want to provide a standard of educational excellence in the northwest of Donegal, giving students, tourists and the community a chance to learn new and old skills. The packages we would offer would help people from all walks of the community to be ‘connected’ to where our food comes from, to become environmentally aware, to live more self-sufficiently and to think ethically. The educational packages would provide people with the knowledge they need to make responsible decisions about how they live their lives within the natural environment, while surrounded by the beauty and wonder of the landscape that OURganic Gardens has to offer.
