The Carraig Dulra Permaculture Design Course (PDC) embraces head, heart and hands-on learning, offering a transformative and immersive educational experience at the beautiful ‘Carraig Dúlra’, a 4 acre Permaculture research site in the South East of Ireland.

This PDC is designed to be as accessible as possible to all in its learning style, affordability, and ability level, and to all ages. Please get in touch with hannah@earthcare.ie if you have accessibility queries and she will work with you to try to meet your needs.

In our 6th year of running this course at Carraig Dúlra we are delighted to be integrating it with the Irish Permaculture Gathering, and the European Permaculture Convergence, both being hosted in Wicklow following the course.

You could have a month-long Permaculture adventure this summer; complete a PDC at Carraig Dúlra, connect with the national network at the Irish Permaculture gathering, and follow that with the EUPC, all within County Wicklow!

TUTORS

The interconnections of our carefully chosen tutor team provides a diversity of perspectives from living examples of “Permaculture in practice”.  Their years of experience and wisdom weaves together with all the Permaculture theory and design you would expect from the core curriculum of a UK Permaculture Association accredited PDC.

We include a practical element to every day of the course, offering hands-on experience in:

  • Organic Growing
  • Compost systems
  • Forest Gardening
  • Natural Building & Crafts
  • Working with Water
  • Woodland Skills
  • Foraging and Making Natural Products
  • Animal Husbandry and Welfare
  • Upcycling and DIY skills
  • Social Permaculture
  • Design Practice

We also visit, case study and engage with other local projects at differing stages of their design and implementation. These experiences of applied Permaculture design in various contexts support your understanding of the core concepts from many angles. This exposure to  techniques, information, and styles of Permaculture will provide you with a rich toolkit for your own future projects.

The carefully designed education environment of Carraig Dúlra, the tutor team and course content will empower you to apply Permaculture design to your own garden, household, farm, business, community project and even your own life path.
